In my role as the University Library’s instructional designer, I frequently investigate and use a variety of educational technologies. I also have an interest in considering what is coming down the road and what spurs the adoption of new technologies in post-secondary institutions.
This brief article in THE (Times Higher Education) presents six areas of consideration to help us think about what future services could look like given technology adoption trends.
If you have a moment, give it a glance and let me know what you think!

We are already seeing the first three all over the place with flipped classes, MOOCs and clicker use. I’m interested in students creating and wonder what that might look like in a library context!
Hi David,
I think the university & the library have already done a fair bit to adapt to technological change, although there’s obviously always room for improvement.
Do you follow the Murray Library on Facebook? ‘Cause you really should. https://www.facebook.com/Murray.Library.UofS
I think #4 was a good point. It’s interesting to read that in light of the recent events with students wanting more of a voice in the TransformUS process. They want more of a say in the development of their education than previous generations.
Is this enough of a comment for you? 🙂
