Timeline

Sept to Dec 2018

  • Recognizing a gap in cannabis education for youth, Holly and Kerry Mansell, (on behalf of the CRIS Knowledge and Translation platform) reached out to Tish King (SafeSHIP) and Jenn Klemmer (SHINE) and our partnership was formed. As educators, health care providers and parents, we all shared the same vision for education and quickly got to work planning the project.

Jan 2019

  • Our 4th year nursing and pharmacy students begin!
  • Development of middle school resources
  • Development of high school resources

May 2019

  • Stakeholders (students, teachers, parents, and representatives from other interested organizations) were consulted to review the program and final revisions were integrated

July 2020

  • The toolkit was approved by the Ministry of Education and posted on the website

Aug 2020

  • A manuscript was published outlining our toolkit development process:
