Monique Blom is a versatile interdisciplinary artist, activist, consultant, and arts educator, whose creative journey unfolds amidst the captivating landscapes of Canada’s wildwoods. With a profound connection to nature, Blom’s practice seamlessly integrates elements of the environment into her artistic exploration, from wood chopping to shelter building. Her expansive repertoire encompasses captivating performances and thought-provoking public art interventions, with a thematic focus on the intricate dynamics between women, domesticity and spirituality.

With a Master of Education from the University of Saskatchewan and a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction from the Alberta College of Art and Design, Blom’s research explores the transformative power inherent in the creative process. For 25 years, she has contributed her expertise as a full-time practicing artist while serving as an Art Education Sessional Lecturer. Additionally, Blom fulfills the role of Palliative Arts Specialist and Death Doula at the Hospice at Glengarda, guiding projects aimed at providing compassionate end-of-life care.

Blom’s impactful exhibitions and performances have garnered international acclaim, showcased at prestigious venues such as Remai Modern Art Gallery, Princeton University, MUAC (Mexico City), SVA (New York), and various festivals worldwide. With a steadfast dedication to holistic artistry and a profound commitment to fostering connections, Monique Blom continues to push boundaries and inspire communities through her innovative work.
