Call Opens for TLt 2013
This year’s theme is “Making IT Mainstream: Everybody’s doing IT”. With ubiquitous use of smart-phones, tablets and laptops by students and faculty the days of speaking of educational technology in future or fringe terms are long past. It is now mainstream so conversations at this year’s TLt will focus on the mainstream integration of learning technologies at both the level of the institution and individual instructor, what is what working and what is not, and how all of this is and will continue to effect higher education.
The conference plenary speakers will be Valerie Irvine, Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the Technology Integration and Evaluation Research Lab from the University of Victoria, and George Veletsianos, Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin.
Topics for the 2013 TLt Conference include:
- Flipped Teaching
- Social Media in the Classroom
- Open Learning, including MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses)
- Blended Learning
- Distributed Learning
- Learning Analytics
- Learning Technologies Governance
- Open Publishing
- Accessibility
- Evaluating the Impact of Technology on Learning
Proposals will be accepted for 30 minute presentations (with an expectation of some interaction between presenters and conference participants during that time). The deadline to submit a proposal will be February 1, 2013. The conference will also offer a limited number of displays to presenters interested in displaying innovations with learning technologies to those in attendance.
This regional conference is always a wonderful opportunity for faculty, instructional designers, ICT professionals and educational developers to connect, share, learn and laugh with other educators who are passionate about the integration of technology into teaching and learning in higher education.
