About Hal Segal: Hal Segal returned to academia 50 years after earning his Master’s Degree,
after a career as an entrepreneur and newspaper columnist. His focus is now on policy
entrepreneurship to facilitate climate change mitigation in Canada. In 2024, he authored
three articles in Canada’s National Observer on climate issues. In 2026, he will defend his
dissertation entitled “A Proposal For Canada To Reach Its Greenhouse Gas Emission Goals.”
