Course Trailers
Similar to a movie trailer, creating a course trailer is a great way to orient students to the upcoming active learning opportunities in your class and invite their participation at the start of the term. Think of your course trailer as a call to action! invite students to join your class as though it was an interactive event. Pose questions of inquiry (are you interested in…) and incite action (then this course is for you!).
Contact media_production@usask.ca to discuss how we can help produce a course trailer with you and incite active student participation.

Generative AI in Virtual Production
Expanding the boarders of a scene to create a new and enhance setting is now easier than ever with the help of generative AI features in programs such as Adobe Photoshop. See how we were able to create a futuristic view of the USask Campus by creating “matte paintings” with the Generative AI features in Photoshop and then compositing them into a video.
Contact media_production@usask.ca to discuss how AI can enhance your next media production.
Studio A AR Info
Designing small Augmented Reality (AR) information markers that “stick” in a specific space. We designed an info AR for Studio A that sticks to a horizontal plane and I made another one for my office door that sticks to a vertical plane.
Connect with meda_production@usask.ca to discuss how we can support designing this type of media with you.
Large Scale Augmented Reality in Studio B
Testing some large scale augmented reality models in Studio B this week. If you want to interact with a large scale 3D model as part of your teaching and learning activities we have the space for you!
Studio B is a 29’X48′ sound stage featuring a full sized green screen with grid lighting, a white cyclorama, various paper backdrops as well as black and blue curtains, a large projection screen and HD projector and more. This multi-functional media production space is used for a variety of productions and is a perfect space to spread out if you need a some room to stretch your teaching and learning legs.

Lightboard Luminance Keying!
Taking the Lightboard Studio to the next level! We’ve been doing some experimenting in the lightboard studio and adding slides and animations into the recordings using a luminance key.
This means an instructor can annotate, label, or otherwise draw on top of images and animations that appear on the lightboard surface.
Contact media_production@usask.ca to learn more or to book some time to play with this technique in studio free of charge.
