Campus Safety Patrol Vehicles

Why are Campus Safety vehicles left idling when unoccupied?

The University’s Campus Safety patrol vehicles, like many other emergency service vehicles in Saskatoon, are equipped with sensitive electronic equipment essential for delivery of service to the campus community. This equipment includes items such as Automatic External Defibrillators (AED), which must be maintained at room temperature in order to be functional. Idling of vehicles to maintain a state of constant readiness is a cost of providing immediate emergency response to the University community.
