Arrests for Public Intoxication (Diefenbaker Court/Commerce Court)

Two individuals were arrested by Campus Safety for Intoxication in a Public Place in two separate incidents on September 11.

At 11:05 PM on September 11 a Special Constable came across a male consuming beverage alcohol in Diefenbaker Court. The male was escorted back to a patrol vehicle in order to issue an Offence Notice under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act for Consuming Alcohol in a Public Place. As the ticket was being issued the male became increasingly angry and combative. Due to the level of aggressiveness and intoxication the male was arrested at the scene, and transported to Saskatoon Police Detention by the officer.
At 11:45pm on the same evening a male exiting a chartered bus began a physical altercation with the bus attendant and driver. Special Constables entered the bus to ask the male to exit the vehicle. The male physically resisted the removal. After removing the male from the bus he became more combative – issuing verbal threats and attempting to kick the officers. Due to the level of aggressiveness and intoxication the male was arrested for Public Intoxication and transported to Saskatoon Police Detention by Campus Safety.
