Welcome to 2024 and the new term!

Welcome to the Winter Term! All of us at AES hope that you were able to have some time to relax over the holidays. As we gear up for the new term, we want to make sure that you have the information you need to access your exam accommodations, if you plan to use them. Please save this email for reference.

USE ACCOMMODATE TO REQUEST ACCOMMODATIONS FOR YOUR EXAMS

Please submit your requests for accommodations in Accommodate

  • Log into Accommodate by navigating to this URL https://paws.usask.ca/aes.
  • You must request your Letters to Professors (LTPs) before the system will let you request exam accommodations. Your AES advisor needs to approve your LTP requests before you can request exam accommodations. This can take a few days. Request your LTPs as soon as possible, so that you don’t miss any exam deadlines.
  • Please view the how-to guide if you need help with Accommodate. It is available at this URL: https://canvas.usask.ca/enroll/AFB4WF

SUBMIT A REQUEST WHENEVER YOU NEED ACCOMMODATIONS, INCLUDING REMOTE EXAMS

Whenever you need accommodations throughout the fall and winter terms, submit a request through Accommodate. There are only two exceptions:

  • If you have a midterm in a lab, talk to your lab instructor before you submit your request. Lab instructors often (but not always) provide accommodations directly for midterms.
  • If your program, college, or home campus (meaning, if your class is based at a satellite campus outside of Saskatoon) has advised you to follow different procedures to access accommodations, follow their instructions, not ours.

FALL/WINTER DEADLINES

  • Non-final exams = 2 full weeks (14 days) prior to the exam date
    • To locate your deadline date, use a calendar and look directly above your exam date by two weeks. If your exam is on a Friday, your deadline will also be on a Friday.
  • Final exams = November 19/March 19

Late requests will not be accepted for any reason.

PLEASE UNCHECK IRRELEVANT ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodate requires that you UNCHECK any accommodations you DON’T need. Please be mindful when you submit your request. Take a few seconds to review the accommodations that you are entitled to and uncheck those that you don’t need or that aren’t appropriate to the exam you are requesting.

WE START EVENING EXAMS EARLY

For various reasons, we start many evening exams early. For your reference, the table below has the most common scenarios for students with time-and-a-half. If the scenarios below don’t match your needs, you can email aesexams@usask.ca to ask for clarification.
