Time for a Jump Start? Teaching and Learning Fund at the GMCTL
Feeling stuck?
Even though good ideas for change are exciting and energizing, sometimes they sit still or do not progress. Common reasons include:
- Working at it sporadically or “off the side of your desk”
- Attending to more urgent or pressing issues
- Being at (or beyond) your limit in terms of projects and things to do
- Uncertainty about next steps, or seeing the next steps as daunting
- Questioning if this is really what you’re supposed to be doing, anyway
If
the time has come for an infusion of help and your project is about one or more of the following
- Program-level curriculum change (see the 4-step process for successful change)
- Assessment improvement across multiple courses or within a program
- Instruction redesign across courses or within a program
Then
it may be a fit with the Teaching and Learning Fund (previously known as the Curriculum Innovation Fund now with some expanded options and a few updated process points).

contact the Gwenna Moss Centre team (gmctl@usask.ca) to talk with an educational development specialist about
- what the goals are of your project,
- what would enable progress, and
- how to develop an action plan (and budget request).
We can work with you to create a plan that is well-sequenced and manageable. Once we have that, and can articulate how funding would be used, it’s straight forward to apply to the fund. Applications are accepted at any time of year with a usual response time of 1 to 3 weeks.
