The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating 14 incidents of indecent exposure believed to be committed by the same male suspect, which have occurred on the City’s east side since mid June, the most recent occurring October 5, 2011.
In each incident the victim is approached by a male who at times engages them in conversation, making eye contact and smiling. He then exposes himself to the victim. In some cases he has also performed an indecent act before fleeing the scene. In roughly half of the incidents the suspect has been on foot, the other half on a bike. Several incidents have occurred in back alleys. The victims have all been female ranging in age from 14 to senior citizens. No one has been physically harmed during the incidents.
The male is described as Caucasian with a light complexion, 20-30 years of age, 5’6″-6′ in height with a slim build and shoulder length blonde or light brown hair. The suspect has distinctive hair described as being in dreadlocks, or appearing scraggly or frizzy as if it had recently been in dreadlocks.
Saskatoon residents are reminded to keep safety in mind. If possible, walk or wait at bus stops in pairs; carry a cell phone; stay in populated, well lit areas; and be aware of your surroundings. It is also very important that these incidents be reported to Police immediately. In some cases Police have not received reports until well after the incident has occurred.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
