Overview
You've heard that a picture is worth a thousand words and in so many ways this is true. Pictures, and more specifically photographs, bring to mind endless descriptors and information as we gaze upon them. But what can we do as designers and producers of media to ensure that our message is being heard? What techniques can we employ to ensure that the emotion and message is clear?
Objectives
- Apply some theories of visual communication to your own images.
- Modify camera settings to intentionally affect the outcome of an image.
- Employ the rules and guidelines of visual composition elements discussed in class within your photography.
- Successfully navigate the interface of Photoshop CC.
- Identify and work with openly licensed works for modification.
- Apply layering and blending techniques to create a composite digital image.
- Discriminate between online tutorials to find relevant and personalized learning opportunities.
