The USSU Teaching Excellence Awards recognize professors and Teaching Assistants who demonstrate teaching excellence at the University of Saskatchewan. An excellent teacher not only gives us access to knowledge but also gives us the tools to turn that knowledge into wisdom. Students evaluate teachers and their environment in a number of ways; three important areas include enthusiasm, organization, and fairness of evaluation. These aspects culminate in an environment where students feel free to explore, critique, grow, and become leaders.

Do you have a Professor or Teaching Assistant who inspires you? Is your instructor passionate about teaching? Do they go that extra mile to ensure you succeed?

Nominate them for a Teaching Excellence Award!

The last day to submit opt-out applications for eligible students enrolled in Winter Term is January 17.  Completed online forms are due no later than 4:30 pm.

Undergraduate students who are registered for 9 or more on-campus credits in the Fall or Winter Term and who are USSU members are automatically covered.

The Change-of-Coverage Period is the period at the beginning of the Term when you can either opt-out or enrol yourself, your spouse and/or dependent children in the USSU Health & Dental Plan. If you’re a new Winter Term student, you can opt-out or enrol yourself and your spouse/dependent children between Jan. 2 – 30, 2025.

Winter Term U-Pass can be loaded on your phone but can’t be activated until January 1. Winter Term U-Pass allows you to access Saskatoon Transit from January 1 to April 30. You will be required to activate your U-Pass each term.

Opt-out applications may be submitted online for eligible students enrolled in Winter Term. You will be required to submit a U-Pass opt-out application each term.

December 31, 2024

Fall Term U-Pass is deactivated at the end of the day. Winter Term U-Pass will be required effective January 1, 2025.

January 1, 2025

Winter Term U-Pass is active. You can activate your U-Pass on your phone after the start of the term (12:00 am on January 1st for the Winter Term).

January 17, 2025

Last day to submit opt-out applications for eligible students enrolled in Winter Term. Completed online forms are due no later than 4:30 pm.

April 30, 2025

Winter Term U-Pass is deactivated at the end of the day. Spring Term U-Pass will be required effective May 1, 2025.
