The USSU needs undergraduate students to contribute to the recently formed Transit Ad-Hoc committee. We will be collecting information and generating ideas to improve transit service for students.

USSU Special General Meeting 

6:00 p.m. February 6, 2020, ARTS 241

 

All undergraduate students are eligible to propose amendments to the USSU Bylaw. The USSU consults with the USSU lawyer to ensure that the proposed amendments adhere to the spirit and intent of the Bylaw.

A Special General Meeting will be held Thursday, February 6, 2020, at 6 pm in the Neatby Timlin Theatre (ARTS 241). Please bring your student card for verification as a current U of S student. Pizza and pop will be provided.

Please use the Amendment Form and email your proposed amendments to gm@ussu.ca

Proposed amendments are due January 17, 2020, by 4:30 pm.

USSU Undergraduate Symposium – Deadline Extension

With thousands of dollars in prizes up for grabs, undergraduate students at USask are welcome to showcase their research, scholarly and artistic projects at the annual USSU Undergraduate Symposium. Any project undertaken during your undergraduate years (summer internship work, class or personal projects, challenges, case competition results, FYRE research: any new knowledge built or created or researched as an undergraduate student) is welcome at the adjudicated, awarded showcase event.

Register your entry by January 13 – the USSU Undergraduate Symposium will be held in the North Concourse and Roy Romanow Student Council Chamber in Place Riel on January 30, 2020.

USSU Undergraduate Symposium

The Undergraduate Symposium is an annual event highlighting the research, scholarly and artistic works of undergraduate students at the University of Saskatchewan. The Undergraduate Symposium will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2020, in the North Concourse of Place Riel.

From research posters to sculptures, presentations to musical numbers, community-engaged learning experiences to dramatic dialogues, click here to submit your project.

National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

On December 6th, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, we remember the 14 women who lost their lives in the 1989 École Polytechnique Massacre in Montreal.

Join the USSU Women’s Centre and  Saskatoon Women’s Community Coalition in honouring the 30th anniversary of the École Polytechnique Massacre. There will be a vigil followed by a screening of the 2009 film ‘Polytechnique.’

Friday, December 6, 7-9 PM in the Neatby Timlin Theatre at the University of Saskatchewan (Arts & Science Building, room 241)
No admission

The film ‘Polytechnique’ is a docudrama that portrays a dramatic reenactment of the massacre from the perspective of two students. Emotional support will be available to viewers during and after the event. Viewer discretion is advised.

Now Hiring – Student Graphic and Media Designer

The Student Graphic and Media Designer works with the Communications and Marketing Manager to develop and complete communication initiatives including print, video editing, and digital materials that promote and maximize awareness of the USSU, its operations, and services.

This position is a part-time, term position (with the possibility for a second term), working 20 hours per week September-April, and 38 hours per week May-August. Applicants must be current​ undergraduate students at the University of Saskatchewan.

Transgender Day of Remembrance

Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day to memorialize those we have lost as a result of anti-transgender violence and to raise public awareness of the continued violence that the transgender community faces today.

We call on all our allies to step forward and stand in vigil beside us.

This will be followed by a cake and tea in the Education Student’s Lounge.
