USSU Undergraduate Symposium

Do you have questions about the USSU Undergraduate Symposium?
The symposium is happening on February 29, 2024
Join us for one (or both) of our information sessions!
Online: Wednesday, January 24, 4 pm.

In-person: Monday, January 29, 3 pm in the Roy Romanow Student Council Chamber in Place Riel
Please register for either session! We will have treats for the in-person session, and knowing how many people will help us avoid food waste.
However, you are welcome to drop by without registering!

Winter Term U-Pass Opt-Out Deadline

January 1, 2024

Winter Term U-Pass is active. You can activate your U-Pass on your phone after the start of the term (midnight on January 1st for the Winter Term).

January 16, 2024

Last day to submit opt-out applications for eligible students enrolled in Winter Term. Completed online forms are due no later than 4:30 pm.

April 30, 2024

Winter Term U-Pass is deactivated at the end of the day. Spring Term U-Pass will be required effective May 1, 2024.

Winter Term U-Pass Important Dates

December 18, 2023

Winter Term U-Pass can be loaded on your phone but can’t be activated until January 1, 2024. Winter Term U-Pass allows you to access Saskatoon Transit from January 1 to April 30. You will be required to activate your U-Pass each term.

December 18, 2023

Opt-out applications may be submitted online for eligible students enrolled in Winter Term. You will be required to submit your U-Pass opt-out application each term.

December 31, 2023

Fall Term U-Pass is deactivated at the end of the day. Winter Term U-Pass will be required effective January 1, 2024.

January 1, 2024

Winter Term U-Pass is active. You can activate your U-Pass on your phone after the start of the term (midnight on January 1st for the Winter Term).

January 16, 2024

The USSU is seeking a student assistant to provide support to the Executive as the Academic and Governance Assistant, working with the VP Academic Affairs on academic grievances, Teaching Excellence nominations, and Experience in Excellence Awards, to transcribe minutes from recordings of University Student Council, executive meeting minutes, prepare University Student Council packages, and to support front office staff.

Event and Social Media Coordinator
Reporting to the Communications & Marketing Manager, the Event and Social Media Coordinator helps coordinate and support executive events and programs. They would be responsible for coordinating and implementing USSU executive social media channels and growing the USSU’s reach to undergraduate students.

USSU Annual General Meeting

University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union
Annual General Meeting

All undergraduate students are eligible to propose amendments to the USSU Bylaw. The USSU consults with the USSU lawyer to ensure that the proposed amendments are legal and adhere to the spirit and intent of the Bylaw.

The AGM will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in ARTS 143. USSU members will vote on all amendments. Pizza & refreshments will be provided!

Proposed amendments must be emailed by November 10, 2023, by 4:30 p.m.

Trick or Eat!

The USSU Food Centre organizes volunteers to partake in Trick or Eat – an event to raise non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the Saskatoon Food Bank.  Volunteers will meet on campus for check-in and then leave to canvass a Saskatoon neighbourhood for donations. Volunteers will bring any collected donations back to campus, where the team with the most donations collected will be awarded the Candy Cup!
Trick or Eat will take place on October 31st 5:30pm-9pm.
For the day of the event:
Event Starts/Team Registration: 5:30pm
Donation Collection: 6:00pm-8:30pm
Donation Counting/ Sorting: 8:30-9:00
